Audiosocket does not currently accept fully AI-generated music.

The key thing for us is that we can only represent tracks where we’re able to clearly confirm and protect 100% of the rights. That’s what allows us to license your music globally, protect you and our partners, and make sure revenue can properly flow back to you.

A critical factor here is that the music must be copyrightable. Current guidance from the U.S. Copyright Office requires meaningful human authorship for a work to be protected.

At the moment, fully AI-generated music falls into a legal grey area when it comes to ownership and copyright. Because of that, we and our partners cannot reliably license and monetize it.

That said, using AI as part of your creative process may be fine, as long as the final track is clearly human-authored, copyrightable, and you control all underlying rights.

Examples of acceptable use of AI may include:

  • Using AI tools for sound design or generating individual instrument tones, then composing the track yourself
  • Editing or enhancing stems, such as mixing, mastering, cleanup, or audio repair, with AI assistance
  • Generating ideas or rough elements, then rewriting, arranging, and producing the final track yourself
  • Using AI for brainstorming lyrical ideas, then writing and finalizing the lyrics yourself

Examples of what we can’t accept:

  • Fully AI-generated tracks created from prompts with minimal or no human authorship
  • Tracks where AI determines the melody, composition, lyrics, vocals, or core structure of the piece
  • Lyrics that are fully or substantially generated by AI without meaningful human authorship
  • Lyrics, melodies, or other elements that may be derived from or too similar to existing copyrighted works
  • Use of AI to replicate or imitate the style, voice, or likeness of identifiable artists
  • Any content where you cannot confidently confirm full ownership and control of all underlying rights

In general, this applies to all elements of the track, including the composition, production, lyrics, vocals, stems, and any underlying source material. If you’re making the key creative decisions and the result is copyrightable as your work, that’s generally in line with what we can support.

Please also note that you are legally responsible for the rights in any music you submit, including confirming that it is original, copyrightable, and fully owned or controlled by you. We ask that all artists carry out appropriate due diligence before submitting their work.

If you’re ever unsure about a specific track, feel free to send us details about how AI was used and we can take a look together.
