Do I need a PRO, and how does Audiosocket handle registrations?

Yes, we generally recommend that you join a PRO such as ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC if you plan to license music. PRO registration helps make sure writer and publisher royalties can be collected and matched correctly when your music is used.

When Audiosocket places royalty-bearing music, we may register tracks through our publishing channel using the existing song title along with Audiosocket’s internal identifiers so those uses can be tracked properly. Audiosocket does not change the name of your song as part of that process.

Audiosocket has publishing entities with ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC and also works with sub-publishers in multiple territories. Your own writer and publishing information still needs to be accurate and complete.

Audiosocket’s registrations are intended to support placements secured through Audiosocket and should not interfere with your existing registrations or your work with other licensing companies.
